Metabolic Health and Biomedical Measurement Trainer Education Day

Workshop Aim

To provide an opportunity for nursing staff to acquire the requisite skills to become a metabolic health and biomedical measurement trainer and train fellow nursing and medical staff, in the SA Health – Mental Health, biomedical measurement technique.  

This training will endeavour to:

>                Outline the metabolic health and biomedical measurement trainer expectations

>                Refine staff biomedical measurement assessment techniques

>                Provide biomedical measurement assessment training techniques.

>                Ensure contemporary practice and maintain practice competency and currency.

>                Equip trainers to train and encourage staff to provide or arrange physical health assessments for consumers.

>                Build a network with other trainers from across the LHN Mental Health Directorates.

>                Discuss practical training tips.

>                Understand the current statistical data for completion of physical health assessments in their LHN.

Eligibility / Entry Requirements

These sessions are open to anyone who is prepared to become a Metabolic Health and Biomedical Measurement Trainer, able to meet the trainer expectations and has completed the Introduction to Cardio-metabolic Syndrome online learning module which is mandatory prior to attendance at the training session.

Both sessions to be held at Glenside Health Service in the Administration and Learning Services Building.
