Falls Leader Professional Development Day

An interactive and proactive day for NEW Falls Leaders from all disciplines to develop the key foundational knowledge and expertise to fulfil the expectations of the role within individual areas.

 

Intended Learning Outcomes

Develop an awareness of the SA Health and CALHN policies, procedures, OWI’s, toolkits and resources that promote falls risk minimisation.
Increase knowledge and understanding regarding falls and harm from falls.

Understand the multifactorial actions that can reduce the incidence of falls and harm from falls by managing and modifying the risk factors.

Identify actions to engage the older person in preventing falls and harm from falls.

Understand responsibilities and expectations of a Falls Leader.

Develop an understanding of the quality improvement process and how falls initiatives can help to improve patient outcomes.

Develop a support network and share ideas.

Prior to attendance you are expected to complete the SA Health Falls Prevention online learning module via CALHN Learning Central.
