Cerebral Aneurysms & Subarachnoid Haemorrhage

This course was developed to assist neurosurgical nurses caring for patients with brain aneurysms not yet ruptured undergoing treatment and ruptured brain aneurysms resulting in subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH).

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discuss aneurysm types, classifications & locations
  • Define Subarachnoid Haemorrhage 
  • Differentiate between treatment modalities – Endovascular vs Surgical
  • Discuss the risks associated with SAH & management strategies 
  • Discuss the purpose & limitations of antiplatelet medication use with cerebral aneurysms
  • Design a comprehensive and detailed nursing care plan for a patient undergoing endovascular or surgical cerebral aneurysm treatment
