Hand Hygiene for Non-clinicians

Target audience: All staff, contractors, volunteers and students who are not clinicians within the Central Adelaide LHN.

Completion requirement: Mandatory as a one-off for all non clinical staff

Learning Outcomes

After completing this module, you should:

  • Have an increased understanding of Hand Hygiene in health care setting.
  • Be able to identify common ways germs are transferred from people to objects and back to people.
  • List the two ways of performing Hand Hygiene.
  • Identify ways to stop the spread of the flu and COVID-19.
  • Demonstrate correct hand washing and hand sanitising technique.
  • Have a good understanding of strategies that can be implemented to reduce risk of harm to patients, staff and family with Hand Hygiene.
