Haemodialysis Water Guidelines

The quality of water delivered to haemodialysis patients is an important component of the haemodialysis process. All staff working in haemodialysis units should have a basic understanding and awareness of what the minimum requirements are for water delivery and quality. As such this education package has been designed to provide information regarding water quality and your obligations to provide safe practice to patients in your care.

The water quality education package below should take approximately one hour to complete. You should familiarise yourself with the guidelines and procedures that accompany this package.

Following completion of this package a skills check will be required to ensure you can apply this knowledge to practice. Once you have completed the education component let your manager know so that a time can be organised to complete the skills check. On completion of this package and the skills checklist you will be eligible for one CPD hour.
