This course is for all Nursing staff who care for patients with tracheostomies on any of the cohort wings. It aims to provide you with information to help you provide safe care to the adult patient who has a tracheostomy or total laryngectomy and to help you gain accreditation in tracheostomy management.

A variety of companies produce tracheostomy tubes. The Shiley™ tracheostomy tube will predominantly be discussed in this e-learning package, but similar principles apply when providing care for the patient with a tracheostomy regardless of the brands.
