A mandatory competency for Cancer Nurses
Frequency: Once on commencement, following break of continuous service, or following significant ADAC update.
Reassessment: Bi-annual reassessment of competency
Target Audience: All cancer nursing staff
Content includes:
Module 1: Safe handling of hazardous drugs and related waste
Module 2: Understanding how anti-cancer drugs work
Module 3: Treatment-related toxicities and management
Module 4: Reviewing anti-cancer protocols and prescriptions
Module 5: Patient education
Module 6: Patient assessment
Module 7: Administering anti-cancer drugs
Allocated hours: (1hour = 1 CPD point)
- ADAC Module 1: 2 hours
- ADAC Module 1 - 7: 17 hours online
- Workshop 1-7: 6 hours
