Safe Handling and administration of Intrathecal Chemotherapy for Pharmacy staff

To be listed as an Authorised Practitioner on the Intrathecal Chemotherapy Register, pharmacy staff must read and familiarise themselves with the following Operational Wide Instructions (OWIs):

• OWI 03227 Lumbar Puncture Procedure 
• OWI 03228 Intrathecal Chemotherapy: Administration of

• Complete the relevant quiz for your area of practice.  The expected achievement is 100% to progress.  Once completed your name will be added to the list of pharmacy staff trained to prepare and dispense intrathecal chemotherapy
