The Clinical Activity Taskboard (the Taskboard) is a communication tool that has been designed by SA Health clinicians to support the management of patients overnight. It provides real time information about all of the Clinical Activities across the hospital that require medical attention. This supports staff to understand the number of patients and the acuity of clinical needs, enabling clinicians to use their clinical judgement to determine how to provide care for the patient.

• recognise the value of the Taskboard in management of patients after hours
• describe how to access the Taskboard
• create a Clinical Activity
• correctly prioritise and classify the clinical requirements of the patient
• navigate both the Live and Completed Taskboards.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

• understand how and why clinical activities are acknowledged
• use the Taskboard as a workload management tool
• understand when and how to completed a clinical activity
• use the Taskboard to support clinical handover.
