Welcome to the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Cellular Therapy Infusion course for nurses.
The aim of this resource is to assist nurses working in the speciality area of haematology and stem cell transplantation to develop knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of haemopoietic progenitor cell transplant (HPCT) and cellular therapies. Content comprises of; conditioning processes including immunosuppressants, blood product support, donor leukocyte infusion (DLI), viral specific cytotoxic T-cells, the clinical assessment including side effects prior and during cell infusion, and understanding CALHN Cancer policies and procedures.
Intended Audience
This learning resource is intended for all nurses working in the CALHN Cancer Program who will be undertaking the administration of cellular therapies, in consultation with their direct line manager.
If desired, this resource can be utilised by nurses working within the CALHN Cancer Program who are not eligible to administer cells but wish to gain further understanding of the HPCT and cellular therapy administration process.
