Welcome to the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Haemopoietic Progenitor Cell Infusion workbook for nurses. 

The aim of this resource is to assist nurses working in the speciality area of stem cell transplant to develop knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of haemopoietic progenitor cell transplant (HPCT). Content comprises of; conditioning processes including immunosuppressants, blood product support i.e., plasma requirements, clinical assessment including side effects prior and during cell infusion and understanding CALHN Cancer policies and procedures.


Intended Audience

This learning resource is intended for all nurses working in the CALHN Cancer Program who will be undertaking the administration of HPCT, in consultation with their direct line manager. 

If desired, this workbook can be utilised by nurses working within the CALHN Cancer Program who are not eligible to administer HPCT but wish to gain further understanding of the HPCT administration process.
